DIY Fall Photo Garland

IMG_9057
Today I finally have a new DIY video up, and it is a DIY Fall Photo Garland! This was a really fun project to work on since I got to use photos of all my friends, and it came together really quickly – I shot and edited the entire video all on the same day, which hardly ever happens anymore! Keep reading to watch the video and for more photos!

One of the reasons it’s been a few weeks since my last DIY video is because I moved! Moving ends up taking way more time than you’d think, but my roommate and I are finally settled in our new apartment. You can see a bit of it behind me in this video (including our brand new gorgeous bar stools!) but once we finish setting it up, I’ll definitely be doing an apartment tour. You’ll just have to endure a messy background until then!

Anyway, back to the project, this video was sponsored by Graphic Stock, and they wanted me to make a DIY project using some of their stock photos. So I had the idea to make a photo garland by printing out fall-themed photos onto Instax photos, and attaching them all together with jump rings. I think it came out so cute!

Yes, that is Louise of Sprinkleofglitter fame! A lot of the other photos are from the HGTV Handmade Friendsgiving shoot last year, and then just random others that I liked, like me at “Platform 9 3/4” at Whimsic Alley.

I wasn’t sure if they would look good since they were a last-minute idea, but I think the press-on gold studs on the triangles really elevate the entire garland. I just wish I had bought about five more sheets of the studs while I was at the craft store!

The white pumpkin also uses our gold studs, and I made it for my upcoming DIY video over on HGTV Handmade all about DIY Halloween Desk Decor. That video will go up tomorrow and there’s a whole story about why it’s a day late that I’ll tell when I get the blog post that goes with that video finished.

TBH, I don’t know why I KEEP making different forms of bunting and garlands, since they’re always SO HARD to photograph and get the entire project in the shot. But I really like how this one came out, and I hope you guys like it too! And plus since it’s almost Halloween, this is a fall craft that you can keep on your wall for another month or two, rather than having to pack it away as soon as November 1st comes around.

Thanks so much for reading this blog post, and make sure to check out the full DIY video if you scrolled past it earlier. Don’t forget that it’s also my week over on HGTV Handmade, and I have Halloween DIYs going up all week long. Stay tuned for the blog posts related to those videos (and just wait until you hear the story about how the videos almost didn’t get finished!). Happy autumn, and DFTBA!
