For today’s video, I wanted to show you guys how I reorganized all of my craft supplies. Ever since Thanksgiving, they’ve been in a huge mess, and I needed to completely rethink the space so that I could get everything to fit. The biggest change was moving all of my fiction books to a dresser in the hallway so that there would be enough shelf space for all of my craft supplies. Check out the video above and some before and after photos below!
The desk in this little nook had gotten completely overrun with supplies and I couldn’t find anything anymore. I solved this by putting all of the little trinkets that were in plastic bags, such as rhinestones and googly eyes, into a box that now sits on the floor, which freed up a ton of space on the table.
It may have lent itself to some pretty macro photos, but the mess just wasn’t working when it came to using the space.
Now I can finally see all of my supplies, and everything has a home that it can be returned to, so hopefully I won’t have a huge mess buildup again anytime soon.
The floor was another disaster zone, since I just kept piling things on top of each other, and stuff would get crushed and broken.
Now everything is organized, thanks to some boxes from IKEA, which house crafting trinkets in ziploc bags, my previous projects, and all of my tape and ribbon.
One of my favorite changes to the space was using a thumbtack and a binder clip to get my posters and wall decorations off the floor so they could stay clean and accessible.
Now that I’ve moved all of the fiction books to the dresser, there is way more space on the bookshelves for supplies and my design books, which are all in one place for the first time since I moved here eight months ago.
Now that I can just throw the ribbon spools into a box, I don’t have to worry about knocking over precarious stacks of them like I did.
Look at that huge stack of maps! Now that they’re all in one place I can’t wait to use them in even more projects!
I think one of my next videos will be making real magazine holders that are a bit more sturdy than a Cheerios box so I can continue keeping all of my magazines organized as I continue to buy new ones.
Sorry, one more photo of the graphic design books. I just love looking at them all in a row like this.
I’m so happy with how this came out, and I can’t wait to get back to work on crafting tutorials now that I can actually find all of my supplies! Thanks so much for reading!
