After my Holiday Gift Guide video the other day, I wanted to make another gifting video, but this time about gift kits that you can put together for various interests. I decided to make examples for my top three interests – Crafting, Graphic Design, and Vlogging. Check out the Subblime lists to get links to everything I mentioned, and make sure to enter the giveaway for the Photojojo lenses!
Crafting is a great topic for this kind of gift kit idea because there are so many small items that can all add up into a great gift. I had the idea to put all the items inside of a pen case, which can then be repurposed into a portable craft kit. This was the cheapest kit I made for this video, at just $51, but you can add or subtract items depending on your budget.
For the graphic design kit, I wanted to include a lot of the items I used as a student, like a clear gridded ruler, x-acto knife blades, and a Moleskine notebook. They can all fit into a tote bag printed with an ampersand, which is so cute that I might just buy one for myself. And I also included an ampersand necklace from my DFTBA store, which would even make a great Christmas gift on it’s own.
The YouTube/vlogging kit was the toughest to put together since camera equipment is expensive and it started adding up quickly. But I love the idea of putting items into the pocket of a hoodie, since it’s like a special surprise present inside.
As always, you can get links to all of these items on Subblime, though some of the smaller items might make more sense to buy from a real store so you don’t have to pay for shipping. Don’t forget to check out my previous Subblime list, which was for my Holiday Gift Guide 2013, with a ton more graphic design inspired items you could give or ask for as a Christmas present. And make sure you’ve entered both giveaways – one for a Harry Potter shirt from BlackMilkClothing and the other for a set of Photojojo phone lenses! Thank you guys so much for reading, and happy holidays!
