You guys thought those five wall art ideas I posted the other day were all I had up my sleeve, right? Well, you were wrong! Today I have a bonus piece of wall art that can easily be adapted to a phone case, a corkboard backdrop, a textbook cover, anything you can think of! We’re making a plaid design using nothing but washi tape, so read more to check out the full DIY video and see more photos of the project.
When I started, I wasn’t quite sure how this project would come out (or if I would even have enough washi tape on hand to finish it), but luckily I think it came out great! I love how you can get so many different colors from the translucent washi tape, especially when you layer some of them on top of each other.
If you don’t have a canvas, you can totally do this project on a piece of cardstock or any other sturdy surface. If you want to dress it up even more, you could stencil an inspirational quote on top, or style it with some fun home decor pieces like I’ve done here.
You guys always get on my case for using washi tape so often in my projects, but I decided to use the Duck Washi Tape in this video because I’m actually working with Duck Brand now! I went to their headquarters to shoot 10 DIY videos all using Duck Tape, and they’ll be posted on the Duck Brand YouTube channel all summer long. Check out the most recent one right here:
I hope you guys liked this project, and be sure to watch the full DIY video if you scrolled past earlier. If you want even more Wall Art DIYs that take no artistic skill to make, you can check out this video from a few weeks ago. Thanks for reading!
