I have a new DIY on my channel today and it’s all about COLOR! I’ve been brainstorming these rainbow DIYs for a few weeks now, but with the Supreme Court ruling the other day, I thought it was the perfect time to finish them up. Keep reading for the full DIY video and more photos of the projects!
The first one is a recreation of a project I made ages ago just for myself and never put in a video – the rainbow bead wine bottle/mason jar. All you have to do is layer beads of every color in a clear jar and you’ve got a really fun room decoration with no drying time that literally takes about five minutes to make.
For the rainbow of glasses, I pulled out my collection of movie 3D glasses, spray painted them white, and then painted them each a different color of the rainbow. They make such a fun wall decoration, and you can also use them for costume pieces or photobooth props!
The spray paint definitely looks nicer than the acrylic paint, but not everyone has 8+ bottles of spray paint lying around in every color of the rainbow, so acrylic paint totally works too.
This DIY is an expansion on the painted rim jar I made for my Springtime Organization DIY video, but I loved it so much that I wanted to make one in every color of the rainbow and fill them with color-coordinated washi tape.
This is probably my favorite project of the bunch, but it was definitely the longest process, and was almost a craft fail almost every step of the way. Be sure to watch the video to learn what I went through to make it and what I recommend you do differently.
I do like this photo though of all the embroidery thread before I finished the string art. It’s color o’ clock!
I’ll leave you with a closeup of the string art if you want to recreate it yourself. If you make this one or any of them, please send me a photo by tagging me on Twitter, Instagram, or Tumblr.
