I’m so excited to announce my new (and first!) book release, just in time for the holidays! I’ve been obsessed with coloring books for adults all year long, so I had the idea – why not make my own? And then to make it stand out, I of course had to make it ampersand themed. Keep reading for more information about the book (and the accompanying poster)!
There’s just so much that I wanted to say in the announcement video! I hope you guys like it!
The book includes 20 coloring pages, all based around ampersands. About half of the pages are hand-drawn, and the rest I made in Illustrator since some of them got way too complicated to draw. And most of them are single pages, so that if you use a medium that bleeds through the page, you don’t have to choose which side of the page to color. However, some of them are double-page spreads so that you get even more coloring room!
I also included the font used on each page and wrote a short description of each font. I spent a while writing them and I think they’re funny, so I hope you guys like them too!
This is just a mock-up of the book that I put together at home, which is why it has a giant border around the edges, which the final version definitely won’t have. As soon as I get the real books in the mail, I’ll definitely take new photos to show you guys. But aren’t you just itching to grab your colored pencils and dig into such a beautifully complex design?
I also designed an 18″x24″ poster to go with the book, if you wanted a larger piece of ampersand art for your walls. The great thing about this is that you can color it in any color scheme and using any medium, so it can match any room!
As a little bonus to you guys, I decided to make one of the coloring pages a free printable that you can download RIGHT NOW. It’s one of my favorite pages of the book, and it’s a great way to try out coloring again if you haven’t picked up a marker since you were a kid. If you have fun with this one, I hope you get the whole book!

I decided to give it a try myself, and I think it turned out kind of Alice-In-Wonderland-esque. If you decide to color this one or any of the other pages from the book, post it on Twitter, Instagram, or Tumblr with the hashtag #ampersandcoloringbook so I can see and share it!
You can get the book and the poster RIGHT NOW on DFTBA.com, and they’re already discounted to the Black Friday sale price from today through November 30th. That means you can get the book for $16 (less than $1 per piece of art you can make!) and the poster for $8. Plus, if you buy both the book and the poster, you get a $2 discount automatically applied. Or, you could get the Ultimate Ampersand Bundle, which is a $55 value for only $40!
With the holidays coming up, I hope you’ll consider supporting my work by picking up the book and poster for yourself or to give as a gift. Remember to share your coloring pages using the hashtag #ampersandcoloringbook, and Happy Holidays!
