Ever since I saw Nubby Twiglet’s blog post from May 2012 about her custom rubber stamps, I’ve had it in the back of my mind that I wanted some custom stamps too. I mentioned custom stamps as a gift idea in my Holiday Gift Guide for Graphic Designers, and then for Christmas, my parents surprised me with $25 to go towards getting my own stamps made! I ended up getting a small round stamp of my cat logo and a wide stamp of my website header. Keep reading for more photos!
I got my stamps made at the website that Nubby Twiglet recommended, Simon’s Stamps. They offer a huge variety of sizes, and while it doesn’t look all that pretty, the ordering process is pretty painless. I was surprised by how quickly they were made – I got them in mail only about a week after I ordered them! I also ordered a new ink pad from Amazon, though now I want to branch out to colors beyond just black as well!
I also pulled out my silver ink pad that I’ve haven’t used for years. The stamps look so pretty in silver on black paper.
I’m so excited to start stamping everything in my life, from envelopes I mail to custom packing in the new necklace designs I’ll be selling (New designs? Stay tuned!). I’d love to see what you get if you get any custom stamps made, so feel free to always send me photos on Twitter and Tumblr. Thanks so much for reading!
